HTMCV Radio Presents
A radio broadcast of two Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes stories: The Yellow Face and The Crooked Man. Students created scripts from novels, era inspired commercials, cast actors, and did the sound editing for two radio plays. This was truly a student run project with different action groups for the projects based on the students interest including: directing, editing, art, writing, and acting.
The Hero's Journey
Students read Mary Pope Osbourne's Tales from the Odyssey and learned about Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey theory to map out heroic stories. Students answered the question: Does the Odyssey belong in our literary canon? through a literary analysis paper. Finally, students created a large mosaic installment that shows the story of the Odyssey and Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey.
